DIY Quick and Easy Home Art

When I bought my house, I didn’t have a lot to spend on artwork.  (I’m sure many can relate!) I spent my money on the house, new furniture, and other things that were necessities.  I’ve always been crafty and loved to paint so I thought I’d figure something out… even if it was temporary.

Unfortunately, at the time when I did this project I didn’t think to take step by step photos. Sorry!  It is pretty easy though.

I still get compliments on these paintings. 🙂

Here is what you need:

4 Canvases (I bought the standard size you find in craft stores, often packaged in sets of two. Sometimes you can catch them buy one get one.)

Acrylic Paint in Green (or color of your choice)

1 Paint Brush

Paper Towels or an Old Cloth

4 Iron-on Transfers for T-shirts, design of your choice. (I happened to find these on the clearance rack at Marshalls. LOVE great clearance finds!!)

Step 1: Iron the transfers on to the canvases by following the manufacturers instructions and allow to cool.

Step 2: Paint the entire canvas green (or the color of your choice), however, don’t allow the paint to dry completely!

Step 3: Use the towels to rub some of the paint off, leaving a textured look.

There you have it! Pretty easy, right? 🙂 I love quick and easy projects. Make it your own by changing the color, design of the iron-ons or size of the canvases.
